      SEWARD CITY CEMETERY Seward, Alaska The Seward City Cemetery in Seward, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska is located on Coolidge Drive. It is part of a group of cemeteries and is the cemetery closest to the mountains. This cemetery was gridded in 2003 using a survey map done in the fall of 1998 and the spring of 1999. The rows begin with the graves closest to the mountains. The numbers begin at Coolidge Drive. Numbers were assigned based on where the grave fell within the grid. Supplementary maps used to position old graves in the grid were dated May 6, 1930 and September 9, 1980. For cemetery location, see Appendix. The cemetery was read October 7, 2002 and updated October 2, 2003 The notation in parenthesis following each cemetery marker inscription is additional information. The notation "1983 information" refers to Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Death Records and Cemetery Inscriptions published in 1983 by the Kenai Totem Tracers. The notation "KM data" refers to the data of Kerry Martin, Seward cemetery historian, who has researched death certificates, funeral home records, Seward Recording District records and old cemetery maps in an effort to learn more about the people buried in the Seward cemeteries.
