Thyre Georgia "Gee Gee" Hamilton Huss Birth: Nov. 29, 1925 Joliet Will County Illinois, USA Death: Sep. 25, 1999 Spencer Clay County Iowa, USA Thyre "Gee Gee" Huss, 73, of Spencer, formerly of Royal died Saturday, September 25 in Spencer. Visitation will be at noon today until 8 AM with the family present from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 29 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer with the father Roger Linnan officiating. Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer, Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of the arrangements. Thyre Georgia Huss, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Petersen) Hamilton was born November 29, 1925 in Steubenville, Ohio. She received her education in Joliet, Illinois and graduated from Joliet high school in 1943. She then attended junior college until 1945. On September 19, 1948 Thyre married Frank Huss in Dubuque and, following their marriage, they moved to Joliet, Illinois and then to the family farm northwest of Royal. While living in the Royal area, she worked at Aalfs in Spencer and also at the Spencer hospital as an aide. Gee Gee was also an excellent seamstress and for many years she loved to make clothes for her family. In 1998 they moved to the present home in Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters. Mrs. Huss is survived by her husband of Spencer; 11 children: Terry Gruhn and her husband, Gale, of Spencer; Cliff Huss and his wife, Jane, of Spencer; Susie Dunagan and her husband, Dave, of Altoona; Tom Huss and his wife, Zona, of Red Lodge, Montana; Mike Huss and his wife, Jean, of Grimes; Mark Huss and his wife, Alice, of Ames; Nancy Roberts of Des Moines; Jim Huss and his wife, Kim, of Okoboji; Frankie Huss and his wife, Chris, of Royal; Jody Hicks and her husband, Tim, of Roland; Robin Huss of Eugene, Oregon, 20 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Charlotte Varman of Joliet, Illinois, Kathryn Bott and her husband, Ralph, of Indiantown, Florida and one brother, Ted Hamilton and his wife, Joanne, of Tucson, Arizona. - The Daily Reporter, September 28, 1999.
