From the Albany (NY) Evening Journal dated 10/26/1936: "Death came suddenly yesterday to Edward F. Luddy, for twenty years the supervisor of the North Albany operations of the United Traction Company at his home in Watervliet. He had been taken ill Saturday night shortly after reporting for work. He had missed a few days of work because of illness. All of his 54 years were passed in Watervliet where he was active in the Elks Lodge and the Holy Name Society of St. Bridget's Church. A Solemn Mass of Requiem will be sung Wednesday for the repose of his soul. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in charge of Parker Brothers undertakers. Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Cahill; three children, Edmund, Francis and Doris Luddy, all of 603 Seventh street, Watervliet, and a brother, David Luddy of New York City."
