PLATTE COUNTY, NEBRASKA.
The Tillers of Its Soil and Utilizers of Its Productions.
Men Who Have Carved Homes for Themselves and Families Out of the Green Sod.
[The Columbus Democrat, August 27, 1886]
Their Possessions.
From week to week The Democrat will publish items of interest concerning the farmers of Platte county, giving their postoffice address, location, possessions in land, improvements and live stock, and such other information as it may be able to glean. It is our intention to traverse the whole county, and miss no one. The publication of such information will be of inestimable avlue to the farmers, the business men and the community in general. Get a copy of The Democrat each week yourselves, and see that your friends do likewise.
Lost Creek Township.
Lost Creek township is one of the most populous and valuable portions of the county. It occupies a central position in the county, and contains the towns of Platte Center and Lost Creek, or Dorrance. It is traversed by the O.N. & B.H. branch of the U.P., these dividing at Lost Creek station and running in different directions. We commence with this precinct this week as a matter of convenience. Others will be reviewed as we progress in our work.
