ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.— About 1o'clock on Saturday evening, James Torrance discovered Michael De Lee, a well known case, attempting to "go through" the roof of his building, on River street, with the evident intention of indulging in a habit he (De Lee) has of stealing old iron, copper, brass, etc. Mr. T. started for him, when the thief ran, hotly pursued by Mr. T. and officer Keefe. He was finally captured and taken to the Second precinct station house. This morning he was sent to jail, and his case will be brought before the grand jury, which sits today. De Lee is an old offender, and has been to the House of Refuge for petty thieving.
