Around 1890, Michael Monahan and his family moved from Canada to Kansas City, Missouri. Shortly after their arrival, Catherine Guinon Monahan died, at age 33, from septicemia, on September 6, 1890 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. Michael is listed as widowed on the 1900 Census for Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, page 3a. I have not found a death record for Michael Monahan, but I am assuming that he died in Kansas City, MO.

I obtained the birth dates of some of the children of Patrick Monahan and Bridget Deehan from the parish secretary at St. Patrick Church in Pottsville, PA. Another cousin obtained the birth dates of those children in this family who were baptized at St. Stephen Church in Port Carbon, PA.
