      Phyllis "Peachy" V. (Iodice) Stanton, age 95, of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. She was the wife of the late Thomas L. Stanton. Before his passing in 2018, they were in their 70th year of marriage.

      Peachy was born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Anthony T. and Alice (Dextraze) Iodice. She was a lifelong resident of the city and a 1945 graduate of the Dominican Academy.

      Peachy was a dedicated homemaker who was an active communicant of Holy Name Church and a former President of the Women's Guild. She was a member of the Westport Yacht Club for over 50 years, and was a member of the Quequechan Club where she participated in the Ladies Bowling League and enjoyed playing cards. She was also a talented seamstress and an exceptional cook. She was also affectionately known to by her family as the "Corleone".

      She leaves her six children: Christine M. Stanton and her wife Dorene A. Menezes of Westport, Thomas L. Stanton, Jr., Esq. and his wife Christine J. of Plymouth, Phyllis L. Zolnierz and her husband Michael of Swansea, John A. Stanton and his wife Kerry A. of Westport, Nancy C. Stanton-Cross, Esq. and her husband Ralph T. of Westport and Joseph P. Stanton and his wife Sandra A. of East Freetown; fifteen grandchildren, Michael, Molly, Christopher, Jack, Beau, Kay, Patrick, Jillian, Thomas, Jennifer, Daniel, Matthew, Cory, Benjamin and Jacob; seven great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ella, Oscar, Gustov, Cecilia, Georgia and Rosalie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Peachy was the sister of the late Claire G. Booth and Thelma L. Duffy.

      Her Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM with a burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Peachy's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
