Death Notice from the Albany (NY) Evening Journal:
"Peter J. McCarthy, for many years the proprietor of a canal store at the "side cut", died Wednesday at the Samaritan hospital, Troy, after an illness lasting for some time. He had been a resident in this city and the old village of West Troy all his life. He is survived by three daughters and three sons. The funeral will take place to-morrow morning from 2400 Broadway, and later from St. Patrick's Church. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's cemetery".
