He was the owner of considerable real estate in the Eighth . and Eleventh Wards. He was a molder by trade, but recently had been in the employ of the city. He was a stanch Republican. His death recalls a dramatic incident in connection with the fire that burned the Burdett building in 1895. At that time a Mrs.Foley, who was employed in the collar shop of Van Zandt, Jacobs & Co.. was killed, leaving a daughter Elsie Foley, without anyone to support her.
